Traditional Day with us

This day trip is the ultimate experience for those who want to live a traditional Greek experience on the island of Rhodes.

During our trip we will visit 3 destinations.

1) Apollona village

Apollona village of Rhodes is located on the southeastern side of the hill of Prophet Elias, only 50km from the capital of the island, the homonymous Rhodes and very close to the highest mountain of the island Attavyros!

In an evergreen area surrounded by wild pines, cypresses and the local olive groves that give unique olive oil every year, Apollona emerges with an area of about 71 square kilometers, an altitude of 330 meters and a total population of 1005 inhabitants.

According to the most prevalent interpretation, the name of the village seems to come from the ancient greek god Apollon.

There we will visit the traditional cafe “Stou Plastira“. Apart from a traditional cafe, this place is also a museum and belongs to the historical cafes of Greece.

There you can enjoy a Greek coffee or a Frappe-Greek iced coffee (coffee & table water – INCLUDED in the price) and admire the exhibits that exist in this unique building. (There is no entrance fee).

2) Village of Embonas

Embonas may not have any picturesque architectural features. However, it is one of the most popular suggestions for a trip inland in Rhodes that combines folklore, a lively atmosphere and good food.

Embonas is a village full of life all year round with several tavernas serving people who come here from all over the island to taste the delicious local meat. It is the most important grape-producing village on Rhodes, and produces some of the best wines on the island.

There we will visit a traditional winery and you will have the opportunity to taste local wines

We are going to visit the famous Greek traditional taverna “Ilias to eat. We are going to stay there for 90 min. (INCLUDED in the price).

Respecting the safety rules for covid-19, we have designed an individual menu for each person. This Greek menu includes:

  • 1 plate with Greek Salad (Choriatiki)
  • 1 plate with 2x Keftethes (Meatballs) and 2x Pitaroudia (Chickpea Fritters)
  • 1 plate with Tzatziki
  • 1 main course with 3 options: Moussaka or Souvlaki or Braised Beef
  • Wine and Water

3) Kallithies – Psinthos

Our last visit is between the villages of Kallithes and Psinthos in a traditional farm. There you will live a unique experience, you will see up close the process of production of local traditional cheese and you will taste the unsurpassed taste of fresh cheese.

How can I make an online booking?

After choosing an excursion, find an available date on the Calendar or on the Available Dates Section and click on it.

Next step, is to choose how many people are going to participate in the excursion. On the last step you have to provide us with your personal info like name, email and also your hotel-apartment-villa.

How early in advance should I book?

Booking early is STRONGLY recommended especially during peak season (July, August, September).

We also accept 1 day before reservations, but to avoid any disappointment, especially during the peak season, it is recommended to check the availability & book your excursion at least 3 days in advance.

How can I pay?

We have 2 online payment options available at the moment.

We use PayPal one of the safest methods available on the market and we also have the option for direct Bank Transfer (Viva Wallet Account).

Where is my meeting point? (This only applies to excursions that include bus transportation)

When you are going to make your booking, you’ll find a section called “Where are you staying?”.

There is a list of meeting points available where you can choose your meeting point. If your hotel / villa / studio is not in the list you can choose the option –other–.

IMPORTANT: It is very important to write your email correctly so we can send you the closest meeting point available on the map.

How do I choose the right excursion for me?

We try to keep all the excursion descriptions very informative and detailed so that it is easy to understand if the activity suites your taste and interests.

We’ve also created the section “Trip Facts” where you can see the most important information of the specific excursion. For example: Available Days, pick up from your resort service, Tour guide service included.

It is good to be careful when looking for excursions at local offices. Many local offices write prices without including the transfer from your hotel and these are misleading tactics. In our company, whatever prices you see are the final prices with the transfer to and from your hotel.

One of our most important priorities is that our customers are well informed about the services we provide. You are always welcome to contact us if needed.
